We manufacture and supply high technology materials converted into custom parts for our Electronics and Electric Vehicle customers.
We also have a revolutionary new on-line platform called www.materials-direct.com to supply high-tech parts. We offer the customer instant pricing for a custom part made to their drawing, 24 hours manufacturing turnaround, no tooling, and shipped anywhere in the world.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Sales, Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team. This is a varied and fast-paced role that sits at the heart of our business, supporting the complete order cycle from customer enquiry through to product delivery.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers, suppliers, freight partners and internal teams to ensure orders are processed efficiently, stock levels are maintained, and deliveries are made on time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys managing multiple priorities and building strong working relationships.
Key Responsibilities
· Process customer orders, quotations and sales enquiries accurately and efficiently.
· Create and maintain quotations, sales orders and purchase orders using Sage 50 Accounts Professional.
· Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing updates on orders, deliveries and product availability.
· Source materials and products from approved suppliers, obtaining competitive pricing and ensuring supply continuity.
· Raise and manage purchase orders with suppliers.
· Monitor inventory levels and assist with forecasting purchasing requirements.
· Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, availability and delivery schedules.
· Coordinate domestic and international shipments with freight and courier partners.
· Prepare and issue Certificates of Conformance (CofC) for customer orders as required.
· Track deliveries and proactively resolve supply chain or logistics issues.
· Maintain accurate records and generate reports as required.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives across customer service, procurement and logistics activities.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in sales support, purchasing, logistics, supply chain and customer service roles and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial environment.
Essential Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience using Sage 50 Accounts Professional (Quotations, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders)
· Proven experience sourcing materials and managing purchasing activities.
· Experience coordinating logistics activities, including import and export shipments.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong customer service, communication and relationship-building abilities.
· Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess options and implement effective solutions.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Strong IT skills with experience using Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
· GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
· A Levels, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in Business, Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field would be advantageous.
Desirable Requirements:
· Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing or scientific environment would be advantageous.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and a good understanding of manufacturing processes
· Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements
