About ESP Laser Cutting

The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Laser Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will operate our state-of-the-art ByStar Fiber 20kW manufactured by Bystronic, ensuring high-precision cutting and maximum production efficiency.
This role operates on a 3-shift rotating system to support continuous production.
Shift Pattern (3-Shift System)
- Morning Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm
- Night Shift: 10:00pm – 6:30am
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate the ByStar 20kW fibre laser cutting machine
- Load and unload materials using forklift
- Interpret engineering drawings and job specifications accurately
- Adjust cutting parameters to optimise performance and material usage
- Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Maintain production records and meet daily output targets
- Adhere strictly to health & safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience operating fibre laser cutting machinery (Bystronic experience advantageous)
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of CNC controls and nesting software
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a shift rotation system
- Forklift licence (desirable)

Pay: Up to £14.50 per hour
