The Fox & Goose is a well loved country pub set in the heart of Wigley, Derbyshire. We serve both locals and visitors looking for a memorable dining and social experience. Alongside our busy pub and restaurant, we host private functions, celebrations, weddings and events throughout the year.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced hands on Pub, Restaurant & Function Manager to work alongside our Weddings & Events Manager and Head Chef. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about hospitality who thrives in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the bars, restaurant and function spaces
- Be involved in recruitment, training, and staff scheduling
- Ensure high standards of food service, cleanliness, and compliance
- Drive sales and profitability through effective cost control and promotions
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver private functions and events
- Build strong relationships with customers and the local community
- Manage stock, ordering, and supplier relationships
- Cellar management
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a similar management role within hospitality
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Experience in event/function planning and delivery
- Good financial awareness (GP, budgeting, cost control)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A hands-on, proactive approach with attention to detail
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Full driving licence to accommodate guests in our courtesy shuttle service
