The Role
Stags are looking to recruit a Land and Development Assistant to join our Development Land, Planning, and Architectural Design teams in Exeter. The role will involve providing a combination of agency, consultancy and administrative support to the team who provide a range of professional services to clients across the South West.
This position presents a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the department during an exciting period of growth.
The anticipated workload will be varied but will include:
- Point of contact for clients, landlords, tenants, other professionals, contractors and suppliers, predominantly over the telephone and by email but also face to face.
- Handling some aspects of development land agency progression including property listing, brochure and details generation, preparation of site information packs, handling buyer and seller enquiries, with support from the wider development land team.
- Helping to manage Planning and Architectural Design workflow and capacity and co-ordinating workstreams to support instruction progression and achieve deadlines.
- Responding to and, where applicable, dealing with general enquiries.
- Provide general administrative support to the team.
- Management of diaries and organising meetings and events.
- Audio typing of letters, emails, reports, meeting minutes and other documents.
- Drafting and raising fee invoices using our invoicing software.
- Recording and maintaining invoice schedules and quotes spreadsheets.
- Completing background searches and due diligence research on both properties and clients.
- Drafting and arranging signature of our Terms’ of Business.
- Photocopying, filing and CRM management.
- Liaising with members of both the wider Professional Services department and firm.
- Assisting with marketing for the department.
- Organising and co-ordinating events.
Requirements
The successful applicant will have a flexible ‘can do’ positive attitude, be a fast learner for in-house software systems, self-motivated and will ideally have previous experience supporting a busy team, as well as being able to use their own initiative and prioritise their workload. The ability to work as part of a team is essential and attention to detail is key.
An understanding of the development and planning sector would be advantageous but not essential, as well as experience of working in an office environment.

- Excellent working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office.
