We’re currently recruiting a Lead Operative for our Assembly team.
With the launch of our brand new 3rd line, we’re expanding our capabilities and driving operational excellence. As a Lead Operative, you’ll be at the heart of this journey – leading your team, championing safety, and delivering outstanding results.
Location: Penrith, CA11
Shifts: Rotating 3-shift pattern (6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, 10pm–6am)
Benefits: Competitive salary, 25 days holiday plus BH, up to 7.5% pension, Medicash health plan, and career development opportunities
Pay rates:
- Early Shift (6am–2pm): £15.33/hour
- Late Shift (2pm–10pm): £16.25/hour
- Night Shift (10pm–6am): £17.71/hour
YOUR ROLE
We are now looking for a Lead Operative to set the standards for production and operational activities. As Lead Operative, you will lead and develop your team, remodel production activities towards world-class performance and make continuous improvement standard practice. You will inspire team members towards hitting their targets.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and manage PSQDCI Board daily
- Communicate with your team the daily results
- Encourage good practice amongst your team
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Maintaining quality checks
- Work within the specified budgets covering headcount, overtime, absence and holidays
- Cover the role of VSL in their absence
- Ensure delivery targets are met and maintained OTIF
- Work closely with VSL and VSM to control costs
- Be available for stock taking and ensure correct recording of stock levels are carried out daily
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- We are looking for someone who understands a ‘SAFETY FIRST’ culture and is able to achieve safety and quality standards
- Previous experience of organising, leading and training others
- Previous experience in a similar environment is desirable however not essential
