The Cellar at 24 invites applications for the position of Senior Sous Chef within our distinguished kitchen. Renowned for showcasing the finest seasonal produce through elegant, ingredient-led dishes, we offer a collaborative and creative culinary environment rooted in coastal heritage. We are a small plates restaurant and are looking for a creative, passionate Sous Chef to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chef/Proprietor in all aspects of kitchen management, maintaining consistency and excellence
- Execute and refine dishes that highlight the integrity and flavour of each season’s best ingredients
- Play an active role in menu development, drawing inspiration from local farms, fisheries, and foragers
- Ensure kitchen hygiene, safety, and operational efficiency at all times
- Mentor junior members of the brigade with professionalism and care
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum of three years’ experience as Sous Chef or similar within a high-calibre kitchen
- Deep respect for produce and a commitment to celebrating it through precise, considered cooking
- Confident, organised, and calm under pressure
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Enthusiastic about sustainability, seasonality, and culinary innovation
