This is a 'Bank' (0 hours contract) to cover the holiday/sickness of our two Kitchen Porters.
There is no set schedule and you will be asked to cover their shifts when necessary - this is not a contract with set days but you will be called to cover the shifts in advance.
Objectives:
To work as part of a team ensuring that all equipment and utensils are clean and ready for use. To maintain high standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchens. To assist the Chefs as directed by Head Chef.
Principle Duties:
- To keep the kitchen and associated area floors and walls clean and tidy
- To ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are clean and ready for use
- To follow the kitchen catering and cleaning schedules
- To support the delivery of food items and stores to the Communities
- To empty refuse holders and dispose of rubbish in accordance with Larchfield House’s procedure
- To keep storage areas clean and tidy
- To put away all deliveries of stores following correct storage practices
- Any other duties that may be requested by the Head Chef
- Develop effective working relationships with the other employees within Larchfield House.
- Support an open, positive and inclusive management culture.
- Participate in the development of Larchfield House’s policies.
- Participate in evaluation of Larchfield House against agreed organisational goals, as well as business and quality objectives.
- Work to establish effective employer-employee relationships.
- Minimise legal risks.
- Participate in the maintenance of Larchfield House’s management information systems.
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of catering and house-keeping policies and procedures.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the standards required by legislation related to the registration of Larchfield House.
- Act within Larchfield House’s budget based on Larchfield House’s objectives and within the projected revenue.
- Work in a cost-effective manner.
- Be involved in the implementation and maintenance of Larchfield House’s quality assurance programme.
- Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the catering and house-keeping services provision.
- Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which may arise.
- Participate in all mandatory training that is required for the role
