Job description:
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our friendly care home team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents while maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook balanced meals for residents in line with dietary requirements and preferences
- Cater for specialist diets including diabetic, soft, and allergy-aware meals
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, HACCP, and Health & Safety regulations
- Work effectively as part of the care home team to provide an excellent dining experience for residents
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or catering environment
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred
- Understanding of nutritional needs for elderly residents desirable
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Good communication and teamwork skills
