Borthwick Group, based in Hartlepool, is the UK's leading Energy Efficiency business, specialising in the installation of high-efficiency boilers and solar PV systems. Our work helps households reduce energy costs while supporting the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future.
With strong demand across the UK we are expanding our finance team and looking for a commercially focused Management Accountant to support our next phase of growth.
The Role
This is a key role within the business, responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and providing insight to support decision-making across operations.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership and operational teams, helping to track performance across installation projects and improve overall profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis
- Budgeting and forecasting across multiple business areas
- Project and job costing analysis (boiler installs, solar PV projects)
- Monitoring margins, costs, and performance KPIs
- Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Supporting year-end accounts and audit processes
- Improving financial processes and reporting systems
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance teams
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Qualified to ACA or ACCA
Desirable:
- Experience in construction, renewables, engineering, or installation-led environments
- Knowledge of project accounting / job costing
Salary & Benefits
- £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience
