Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Financial Analyst to join our team! Turbo Snail is a uniquely positioned logistics company providing mainly storage, warehousing and cross-border shipping services for the UK-Chinese community. Our operations follow two cycles: peak demand in the summer break as international students ship their belongings home, and off-peak periods focused on cross-border e-commerce using our warehouse and logistics capacity.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare cash-flow forecasts, budgets and financial projections to support and improve the company’s operations.
- Analyse the profitability of individual clients, contracts and service lines, including storage, fulfilment and delivery services.
- Monitor and analyse key operating costs, including labour, utilities, rent, materials, vehicle expenses and third-party carrier charges.
- Review monthly financial performance against budgets and forecasts, investigate significant variances and provide clear recommendations to management.
- Develop financial scenario analyses to assess customer pricing, seasonal changes in demand, labour costs, warehouse capacity and proposed investment in vehicles or other business assets.
- Produce financial and management reports covering profitability, liquidity, cost trends, financial risks and asset utilisation to support business decision-making.
Skills and Experience
- A degree in finance, economics, business finance or another closely related subject.
- Previous experience in financial analysis, commercial finance or financial planning.
- Strong experience in cash-flow forecasting, budgeting, profit-and-loss analysis and financial analyses.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyse large volumes of financial and operational data.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to convert financial findings into practical recommendations for management.
- Ability to read and communicate in Mandarin would be advantageous where required to review source documents and information in Chinese.
Pay: £34,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
