William’s Den is an award-winning indoor and outdoor adventure play attraction in East Yorkshire, welcoming families, schools, groups, campers and event visitors throughout the year.
Our food and beverage operation is a key part of the visitor experience, covering the restaurant, coffee stop, ice cream parlour, grab-and-go offer, parties, events, campsite activity and seasonal trading periods.
We are looking for a confident, organised and people-focused Food & Beverage Manager to lead our front-of-house F&B operation and help us deliver a warm, efficient and high-quality experience for our visitors.
About the Role
The Food & Beverage Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient and commercially effective operation of William’s Den’s restaurant, coffee stop, ice cream parlour and associated food and beverage areas.
This role is central to the smooth running of the visitor experience. You will lead the F&B team, manage daily service, support strong customer service standards, oversee stock and ordering, maintain presentation standards and work closely with the Head Chef to ensure food safety, allergen procedures and product availability are delivered consistently.
The role requires someone calm under pressure, confident in leading a team, and able to balance customer service, operational standards, and commercial performance in a busy family visitor attraction.
Key Responsibilities
The Food & Beverage Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing daily restaurant, coffee stop, ice cream parlour and grab-and-go operations.
- Ensuring service areas are ready for opening and closed down correctly.
- Leading and supporting the front-of-house F&B team.
- Managing staff deployment, daily priorities and service standards.
- Monitoring queues, waiting times and customer flow during busy periods.
- Ensuring visitors receive friendly, helpful and professional service.
- Supporting the Head Chef with food safety and hygiene standards across the operation.
- Ensuring allergen information is available, and staff follow agreed allergen procedures.
- Managing stock levels, ordering, deliveries and product availability.
- Ensuring menus, prices, signage and EPOS/till buttons are accurate.
- Supporting menu changes, seasonal offers, children’s meal bundles and event food offers.
- Overseeing cleaning, presentation and hygiene standards in customer-facing and back-of-house areas.
- Supporting cash handling, till procedures, refunds and financial controls.
- Planning F&B requirements for school holidays, campsite periods, parties and events.
- Coordinating with the Events, Marketing, Operations, Campsite and Visitor Experience teams.
- Reporting maintenance, stock, staffing, customer or operational issues promptly.
- Supporting training, induction and development of the F&B team.
- Maintaining accurate records, including cleaning, temperature, stock and operational documentation.
- Food Safety and Allergens.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure food safety and allergen procedures are understood and followed by the front-of-house team.
You will be expected to:
- Hold Level 2 Food Hygiene training.
- Hold, or be willing to work towards, Level 3 Food Hygiene.
- Ensure the F&B team and Team Leaders are suitably trained.
- Ensure staff understand how to respond to allergen and dietary enquiries.
- Make sure staff never guess or provide unclear allergen information.
- Escalate any food safety or allergen concerns immediately.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, professional and confident with visitors.

- Experienced in leading or supervising a food and beverage team.
- Comfortable working in a family-focused, high-footfall environment.
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of stock, waste and cost control.
- Confident using tills, payment systems and EPOS.
- Able to communicate clearly with kitchen, front-of-house and wider site teams.
- Practical, hands-on and willing to support the team where needed.
- Focused on high standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer service.
- Able to manage competing priorities during events, weekends and school holidays.
- Positive, approachable and able to create a supportive team culture.
Role Type: Annualised Hours
Shift Pattern: Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon (term time) 5/6 days per week (school holidays)
Experience and Skills Required
Essential:
- Previous experience in food and beverage, hospitality, catering or visitor attraction operations.
- Experience supervising or managing a team.
- Good understanding of customer service standards.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and allergen procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence handling customer queries and complaints.
- Ability to manage stock, ordering and daily operational checks.
Desirable:
- Experience in a visitor attraction, family venue, café, restaurant or events environment.
- Experience with EPOS systems.
- Level 3 Food Hygiene, or willingness to complete it.
- Experience supporting events, parties or seasonal food offers.
- Experience with rota planning, cash handling and stock takes.
