An outstanding primary school in Hove is looking for an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join its specialist resource provision.
The provision supports pupils with Autism who benefit from a smaller, highly structured learning environment while maintaining strong links with mainstream classes. The successful candidate will support pupils both within the provision and during integration into mainstream lessons.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for SEND and a strong understanding of neurodiversity.
Main duties include:
- Supporting pupils with Autism throughout the school day
- Delivering structured learning and intervention activities
- Adapting resources to meet individual needs
- Supporting sensory regulation strategies
- Encouraging social communication and independence
- Liaising with teaching staff and specialist professionals
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism
- A strong understanding of sensory and communication needs
- A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach
- The ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Excellent teamwork skills
