Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Reception/Optical Assistant to join our busy optician practice. Established since 1956 The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while supporting the optical team with various administrative and dispensing tasks In helping patients choose there eyewear This role offers an opportunity to develop skills within the optical industry and contribute to patient care in a welcoming environment.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist with appointment scheduling and enquiries.
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate data entry within the practice management system.
- Assist with lens measurements, frame adjustments, and basic frame assessments as required.and taught by the supporting team
- Support the optical team in preparing/ ordering lenses for the on-site lens lab
- Provide information about optical products, including frames, lenses, and accessories.
- Maintain a clean and organised reception area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Handle incoming calls, respond to patient queries, and coordinate follow-up appointments.
- Support stock management for optical supplies and ensure proper labelling and storage.
- workimg Saturdays essential to work between 2 practices approx 10 miles apart and hence must have a car
Requirements
- Previous front of house opticians reception duties / experience or familiarity is desirable but not essential for the successful candidate who is eager to learn a new career .Retail experience is preferable in dealing with the general public .
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional and well dressed manner.
- Organised with strong attention to detail in record keeping and customer service.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the practice.
- A genuine interest in eye care and patient wellbeing. Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
