We currently have two exciting opportunities for the appointment of dynamic, self-motivated Band 6 Patient Flow Coordinators to work as part of the Patient Flow Coordinator Team within Specialty and Integrated Medicine, based at St James’s University Hospital Leeds. Both opportunities are secondments to cover maternity leave, with one post available to start in early November 2026 and the other in early January 2027.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to take responsibility and actively manage patient flow across the Clinical Service Units by implementing and maintaining processes that safely expedite patient placement and discharge.
The jobholder is responsible for the timely and appropriate placement of patients requiring admission to the Trust’s bed base and for the escalation procedure from the Emergency Department.
The role will give you an insight into the wider organization and the issues and drivers which shape current NHS services. You will develop advanced skills in identifying risks and solving complex issues, and gain valuable experience in balancing staff availability and skills against the needs of patients across the service.
If you are compassionate, energetic and have a genuine dedication to improving the patient experience of acute medical patients, then we would like you to apply.
