Is This Role Right For You?
Residential childcare is one of the most rewarding careers available, but it can also be one of the most demanding.
The young people we support have often experienced significant trauma, disrupted relationships, instability and adverse childhood experiences. As a result, some young people may present with emotional and behavioural difficulties, behaviours that challenge, verbal aggression, property damage, missing from home incidents and periods of emotional dysregulation.
This is not a role where you will spend your day sitting behind a desk. You will be actively involved in supporting young people through both their successes and their most challenging moments.
There may be occasions where young people present a risk to themselves, others or their environment. In these situations, staff are required to follow behaviour support plans, use de-escalation techniques and, where necessary, implement approved physical intervention techniques in line with training, legislation and company policy.
Successful candidates must be resilient, calm under pressure, emotionally intelligent and able to maintain professional boundaries during challenging situations.
In return, you will receive comprehensive training, ongoing supervision, regular support from experienced managers and the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to a young person's life.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers, achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.
Essential Requirements
- Aged 22 years or over (in line with Ofsted regulations)

- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience working with children and young people

- Understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
