Pro1 Logistics are looking for a motivated and organised apprentice to begin a career in the freight forwarding and logistics industry.
This is a varied role offering hands-on training in how goods are moved throughout the UK and Europe using different modes of transport, with a particular focus on road freight.
You will work alongside our experienced team, learning how to coordinate shipments, communicate with customers and hauliers, and support the smooth running of daily transport operations.
Summary
This is a full-time on-site role based at our Tamworth office (9, Offa House, Orchard St, Tamworth B79 7RE) for a Freight Forwarding Apprentice. The main duties of this role will include, but not limited to:
- Assisting with the movement of goods throughout the UK and Europe
- Sourcing and developing relationships with subcontractors and hauliers
- Supporting the coordination of road freight and other transport services
- Providing customers with regular and accurate shipment updates
- Communicating with customers, suppliers and drivers by telephone and email
- Helping to resolve operational issues and keep deliveries running smoothly
- Updating customer, supplier and shipment information on our CRM system
- Using telephone, email and social media to identify potential new customers
- Supporting lead generation and business development activity
- Completing general administrative duties as required
About you
You do not need previous freight or logistics experience, as full training will be provided. However, you should be:
- Confident communicating by telephone and email
- Organised and able to manage several tasks at once
- Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
- Reliable, enthusiastic and willing to learn
- Calm when dealing with changing priorities
- Interested in logistics, transport, customer service and business development
- Confident using social media for professional purposes
- Able to work well as part of a busy team
This apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to learn about freight forwarding, transport operations, customer service and sales while working towards a recognised qualification (Level 3 International Freight Forwarder Specialist).

Hours of Work:
- Monday - Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
Please note: This role is an Apprenticeship. Non-UK nationals must provide evidence of having resided in the UK for at least three years, with the most recent three year period not being for educational purposes (e.g. University), and ensure their visa covers the entire duration of the Apprenticeship.
As this is a Level 3 Apprenticeship, candidates aged under 19 are required to have achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English. If the successful applicant does not meet these grade requirements, additional training in these subjects will be provided as part of the Apprenticeship.
