Experienced Waiter / Waitress – Ollie’s Group

Venues: Ollie’s Restaurant, TIDES & Portofino
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time positions available
We’re looking for experienced Waiters and Waitresses to join the Ollie’s Group, working across our three busy restaurants in Torquay – Ollie’s, TIDES and Portofino.
This role is suited to people who already have strong restaurant experience and are confident working in a busy, fast-paced, professional environment.
About the Role
As part of our Front of House team, you’ll be responsible for providing friendly, professional and efficient service while ensuring our guests have a fantastic experience.
You should be confident in:
- Providing excellent and friendly table service
- Managing your own section during busy services
- Opening and serving bottled wine at the table
- Carrying three plates confidently
- Carrying and serving drinks from a tray
- Taking orders accurately and efficiently
- Making and serving drinks
- Working at pace while maintaining high standards
- Communicating confidently with guests
- Having good food and wine knowledge
Cocktail-making experience is preferred and would be a great advantage.

The Ollie’s Group is a family-run hospitality business with three individual restaurants in Torquay:
Ollie’s Restaurant – a modern British restaurant specialising in fresh, locally sourced produce.
TIDES – our busy seafront restaurant and bar at Abbey Sands.
Portofino – our Italian-inspired restaurant and bar in Wellswood.
Each restaurant has its own personality, menu and style, but they all share the same focus: great food, great service and genuine hospitality.

- Has a genuine passion for hospitality
You’ll receive training when you join us to learn the Ollie’s Group way of doing things, but previous restaurant experience and strong basic service skills are essential.
