Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a Cook. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation and kitchen operations within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will contribute to creating high-quality meals while ensuring food safety standards are maintained. Previous experience in a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous, but a keen interest in cooking and meal preparation is essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist with cooking various dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Assist in meal assembly and presentation to meet quality expectations
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Support the team during busy service periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to create a safe working environment for all staff members
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and replenishment of supplies as needed
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen environments preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and cleanliness
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Enthusiasm for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques
- Previous restaurant or catering experience is advantageous but not essential; a genuine interest in food and cooking is required
