Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings. The role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. The specific client we are seeking to support enjoys a wide range of activities include day trips into the community and outings to Alton Towers/Drayton manor - so please DO NOT apply if you are not comfortable on fair rides. There is also an opportunity for sleep in nights. Please note that the ideal candidate will be required to work 2 weekends out of 4 per calendar month. Candidates should possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference and be committed to delivering high quality support. This position does require you to work 2 out of 4 weekends a month. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing and dressing
- Support with day trips into the community
- Help organise their calendar with future outings
- Administer medication in accordance with prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniques
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients of all ages, including children and elderly individuals
- Drive clients safely to appointments or outings when required
- Monitor health status and report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Support clients with activities that promote independence and well-being
Experience
- Previous experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or senior care is advantageous
- Experience in caregiving roles involving medication administration and behaviour management is desirable
- First aid certification is beneficial but not essential; training can be provided for successful applicants
- Valid driving licence and own transport
