Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a vital part of our kitchen operations, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing daily food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management
- Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes in accordance with established standards and health & safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation of food safety procedures
- Support serving staff during busy periods to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Contribute to creating a positive team environment that fosters professional growth and teamwork
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive food preparation, cooking, and culinary experience in a fast-paced setting
- Strong background in food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Knowledge of food production techniques, menu development, and presentation skills
- Experience in serving customers directly is advantageous but not essential
