Overview
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for creating exceptional dishes. This role involves supervising kitchen operations, managing food production, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Chef will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding dining experience while maintaining a well-organised and efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards
- Manage food production processes, including planning menus and controlling portion sizes
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with recipes and customer specifications
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control procedures
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to deliver excellent service experiences
- Uphold organisational policies related to health & safety and cleanliness
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production techniques
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and suppliers
- Previous experience in serving or front-of-house roles is advantageous but not essential
- Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred
