As Warehouse Supervisor, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of our busy Glasgow warehouse, supporting the Warehouse Manager in maintaining a safe, efficient and well-organised operation.
You'll be responsible for supervising and supporting the warehouse team, while also taking an active role in order control and the coordination of goods moving through the branch. You'll work closely with the Warehouse Manager, Sales Team and Drivers to ensure customer orders are picked, checked, loaded and dispatched accurately and on time.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, where priorities can change throughout the day. You'll need to be organised, proactive and comfortable making decisions and resolving issues as they arise.
The Warehouse Manager will retain overall responsibility for warehouse, transport and health and safety operations, with the Warehouse Supervisor providing day-to-day leadership and support to the warehouse team and helping to ensure agreed processes and standards are consistently followed.
Support the Warehouse Manager with the day-to-day running of the warehouse and provide direction, support and guidance to the warehouse team.

Allocate and prioritise workloads to ensure customer orders are picked, checked and prepared for dispatch accurately and on time.

Take responsibility for day-to-day order control, monitoring outstanding and priority orders and ensuring issues are identified and resolved quickly.

Work closely with the Sales Team to clarify order requirements and ensure customer expectations are met.

Liaise with drivers and the delivery team to ensure vehicles are loaded correctly and dispatched on schedule.

Oversee the receipt, checking and storage of incoming goods and support effective stock control.

Investigate and resolve issues relating to missing, damaged or incorrect products and escalate significant issues to the Warehouse Manager.

Maintain high standards of warehouse organisation, housekeeping and stock accuracy.

Support the training and development of warehouse colleagues and promote a positive culture of teamwork, accountability and customer service.

Lead by example and support the Warehouse Manager in maintaining the branch's high health and safety standards, ensuring safe working practices are followed, and hazards, near misses and incidents are reported promptly.

Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, order accuracy and delivery efficiency.

Maintain accurate records and ensure relevant systems are kept up to date.
We're looking for an organised, practical and motivated individual who enjoys working in a busy operational environment and has the confidence to lead and support a team.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics or transport environment.

Previous experience supervising or leading a warehouse team, or demonstrable experience of taking responsibility for the day-to-day activities of a warehouse operation.

Experience with order control, order processing or warehouse coordination.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with warehouse colleagues, drivers, sales teams and customers.

Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to make practical decisions when issues arise.

A good understanding of warehouse processes, goods-in and stock control.

A strong understanding of health and safety requirements and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

Good attention to detail, particularly when dealing with customer orders and stock.

The ability to remain calm and effective when priorities change.

Good general IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Experience within builders' merchants, plumbing and heating, industrial distribution, wholesale or a similar environment would be advantageous. Experience with ERP, warehouse management or order control systems would also be beneficial, although full training will be provided on BSS systems and processes.
The successful candidate will be someone who is comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment while also taking responsibility for coordinating people and priorities.
You'll be someone who can build positive relationships with your team, communicate effectively across the wider branch and maintain high standards even when the operation is busy.
You'll have a customer-first mindset and understand that an efficient warehouse operation is essential to delivering the service our customers expect.
