Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team.
As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the care and developement of children and providing leadership in our lovely private Day nursery.
You will be one of the first go to faces for parents, children and staff alike... so a friendly one is a must.

Main Responsibilities:
- To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children ages 0-4 years whilst ensuring a high standard of care.
- To deputies for the Nursery Manager.
- To supervise and appraise Nursery staff as directed.
- To ensure that nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
- To develop parent partnership with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development.
- To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Nursery Manager.
- To undertake designated officer roles as directed.
Main activities:
- To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors at all times.
- To contribute to and deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress and to support other staff in doing so.
- To help ensure the nursery always meets Ofsted Statutory requirements.
- To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families.
- To understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies.
- To plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the early learning goals and supports others in doing so.
- To be a key person.
- To ensure records are properly maintained.
- Liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children's progress and encouraging parents' involvement.
- To work in partnership with senior management to update and review self-evaluation and improvement plans.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the nursery aims and objectives.
Personal Requirements:
- Full and relevant childcare qualification at level 3 or above.
- Up to date DBS or part of the update service
- Paediatric first aid certificate
- Experience working with a management or Senior role.
- At least 2 years experience working in an early years setting.
- Knowledge of SEN and safeguarding requirements.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation stage and current Statutory framework.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, passionate and flexible.
- A commitment to high quality in all areas with a high level of motivation and enthusiasm.
