Day-to-day building maintenance work
Core duties include routine and non-routine building maintenance and minor repairs across the estate.
Wide range of practical tasks
Work covers general building, engineering, and maintenance activities rather than a single-trade focus.
Opportunity to work across other trades
Expected to learn and undertake minor work from other trades, broadening skillsets.
Working independently on jobs
Role involves carrying out maintenance unsupervised and managing your own workload.
Planning and completing your own work
Responsibility for organising tasks and ensuring maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
Hands-on use of tools and equipment
Regular use of tools and equipment, including fine tools, with practical, skilled work required.
Supporting larger building and repair works
Assisting higher-grade staff with new work, repairs, and improvement projects.
Involvement in maintenance improvements and surveys
Contributing to surveys for future alterations, upgrades, and estate improvements.
Strong team working within Estates
Working closely with other trades and supporting colleagues, apprentices, and new starters.
Ongoing training and skills development
Role requires continuous development, with training to expand skills and take on more complex tasks
