Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Part-time Mechanic and Yard Hand to join our team. This role involves assisting with equipment maintenance, repairs, and general yard duties. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, be comfortable working with hand and power tools, and have a proactive approach to safety and customer service. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to facilitate assembly, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Assist with the assembly of new equipment or parts as required.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials or equipment around the yard.
- Carry out welding tasks for equipment repair or fabrication purposes.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring safety standards are adhered to at all times.
- Support the yard team with general duties such as loading, unloading, and organising stock or materials.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing queries related to equipment or yard operations.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience working with schematics and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Ability to perform assembly tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Experience in maintenance and equipment repair is desirable.
- Physically capable of heavy lifting and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail.
- Good communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience working in a yard or similar setting is advantageous but not essential.
Pay: From £11,000.00 per year
