Job Overview
Britcon Steel is seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join the team based at Scunthorpe.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering steel solutions that support a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects across the UK.
You will be responsible for producing high-quality welded and fabricated steelwork safely, accurately and efficiently within our workshop environment. Working from engineering drawings and specifications, you will carry out fabrication and welding activities while ensuring work meets required quality, safety and production standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication details.
- Carry out welding and fabrication activities using appropriate welding processes.
- Prepare materials and components for fabrication and assembly.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets required standards and specifications.
- Follow all health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to support workshop productivity and delivery targets.
What we're looking for
Essential
- Time-served Welder/Fabricator or equivalent industry experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
- Experience working within a fabrication or structural steelwork environment.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent welding/fabrication qualification.
- Welding codings relevant to the role.
- Experience working to BS EN 1090 or similar steelwork standards.
