We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected building services engineering consultancy that is continuing to grow. This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit team where you'll play a key role in delivering projects from initial concept through to completion.
The Role
As an Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll take responsibility for the design and delivery of electrical building services projects across a variety of commercial and industrial developments. Working closely with clients, contractors and fellow design professionals, you'll have the opportunity to lead projects while continuing to develop your technical and professional skills.
Projects range in value from approximately £50,000 to £20 million, offering plenty of variety and exposure to different types of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical building services from concept through to detailed design.
- Produce calculations for LV distribution, lighting, power, fire alarms, security, structured cabling and associated electrical systems.
- Prepare technical specifications, equipment schedules and tender documentation.
- Carry out site inspections and attend project meetings.
- Review contractor submissions and monitor installations during construction.
- Work closely with clients, consultants and contractors throughout project delivery.
- Undertake feasibility studies, condition surveys and technical reports.
- Support the integration of renewable technologies and energy-efficient solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers where appropriate and contribute to technical excellence across the team.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
- A degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
- At least 5 years' experience within Building Services Consultancy.
- Experience delivering commercial and industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and CIBSE guidance.
- Experience using electrical design software such as Amtech, ElectricalOM, Dialux or Relux.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- A proactive approach with strong organisational skills.
Desirable
- AutoCAD LT experience.
- Revit/BIM knowledge.
- Working towards or already holding CEng, MCIBSE, MIET or equivalent professional accreditation.
- Knowledge of BREEAM and Net Zero Carbon design principles.
