Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant. As a Bakery Assistant, you will support with prep, dough making, dishes, cleaning and all round tasks in the bakery. This role is a very important part of our team, and would suit someone looking to learn and expand on their bakery skills to move up through the company.
Responsibilities
- Prep work, including making icings and weighing ingredients, making baked goods
- Making and folding of dough
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including restocking and rotation of ingredients
- Monitor stock levels
- Washing dishes and equipment and keeping surfaces clean, deep cleaning equipment and floor cleaning
- Packing of orders accurately and with care
- Packing of vehicles for deliveries
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or bakery environment OR college/training
- Food hygiene level 2 preferred but you will be given full training and we will pay for you to complete
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- A passion for baking
- Ability to commute to the bakery for 2am starts
This is a great opportunity to join us during a period of growth, and learn new skills. The hours are Wednesday to Sunday with a (2am starts Thursday to Sunday), and 30-35 hours a week.
There is the potential for this position to lead to a much bigger role within the bakery. We offer a starting salary of £12.75 per hour, with raises based on performance. We also offer a bonus scheme and 30 days holiday. We always close over Christmas and New Year so you will never have to work over that holiday period.
