Experienced Nanny – Newborn & Family Support

Baby & Beyond Nanny Co. is recruiting an experienced and proactive nanny for a family in Penzance with two children – a 5-year-old boy and a young baby.
This is a long-term position for a nanny who is confident taking responsibility for the children's care and becoming a trusted part of family life.
The role
The nanny will primarily have sole charge of the family's baby during the day, so strong newborn and baby experience is essential.
The family's eldest child attends school approximately three minutes from the family home. The nanny will support with school drop-offs and collections as required, as well as after-school care, activities and full-day care during school holidays.
Typical working days will begin at approximately 8am and the family can guarantee a minimum of 25–30 hours per week. They are flexible regarding the exact working days for the right candidate.
Dad works away for extended periods, so there will be opportunities for additional hours and potentially occasional overnight support during these periods. Some ad-hoc evening, weekend and family travel opportunities may also be available by mutual agreement.
Responsibilities may include:
- Sole-charge care of the baby
- Supporting the baby's developing feeding and sleep routine
- Bottle preparation and sterilising feeding equipment
- School drop-offs and collections
- Taking the children to activities and outings
- Preparing children's meals
- Supporting the eldest child's after-school activities
- Keeping children's bedrooms, play areas and belongings organised
- Tidying the kitchen and children's areas after use
- Child-related laundry and general organisation as required
- Providing full-day care for both children during school holidays
This is not a general housekeeping position. Household responsibilities are predominantly related to the children and leaving the areas used throughout the day clean and tidy.
About you
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
- Have significant professional newborn/baby experience
- Have previous nannying or comparable professional childcare experience
- Are confident providing sole-charge care
- Are proactive and comfortable planning their own day
- Enjoy getting out of the house and providing varied experiences for children
- Are organised, reliable and calm
- Are comfortable working alongside a parent within the home
- Hold a full driving licence and are confident driving with children
- Can swim
- Hold a current Paediatric First Aid certificate or are willing to update this
- Are comfortable around dogs – the family have a French Bulldog
- Are looking for a permanent, long-term position
OFSTED registration would be advantageous but is not essential.
Salary
£15 - £25 gross per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
This is an employed nanny position and the successful candidate will be employed directly by the family.
