Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role involves supporting the efficient operation of our warehouse through various materials handling and stock management tasks. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth flow of goods, maintaining safety standards, and supporting overall warehouse functions. Previous warehouse experience, along with familiarity with warehouse management systems. Duties
- Loading and unloading goods using forklifts
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking and packing of orders
- Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory movements
- Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Handling materials safely and efficiently, including heavy lifting as required
- Organising stock storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
- Supporting maintenance of warehouse equipment, including mechanical troubleshooting if necessary
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Participating in regular stock counts and inventory audits
- Assisting with construction or refurbishment tasks within the warehouse when needed
Experience
- At least 1 years experience working within a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific systems .
- Operating forklift up to 3.5tn .
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques, stock management, and shipping & receiving processes
- Mechanical aptitude or construction experience can be beneficial for maintenance tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in stock control and documentation
- Experience using warehouse management systems or similar software tools is a plus
