Our award-winning national charity based in Kingsclere, Berkshire, is looking for an experienced administrator to support our busy, happy publishing team. You will be someone who loves to do a great job for a fantastic cause whilst also liking to laugh. Main purpose of job
The main purpose of this job is to provide all round administrative support to the publishing and production teams. This is an exciting and varied position, playing a key part in supporting the charity’s volunteers, book publishing and production room manufacture department.
Main duties
Within the Publishing Department
· Support the Publishing Team with a variety of administrative tasks in the creation and publication of audio tactile picture books and discovery boxes.
· Co-ordinate and communicate with external suppliers as required, as part of the publishing process e.g. with publishers, printers, talent agents and recording studios.
· Co-ordinate and communicate with volunteer contributors involved in book and box projects e.g. volunteer scriptwriters, Visually Impaired (VI) editors, VI proof readers, and volunteer voiceovers.
· Co-ordinate and liaise with new volunteers that express interest in publishing and production roles and support their on-boarding.
· Act as the point of contact for volunteers in the painting studio and production room during afternoon sessions, and when the Production Room Co-ordinator is on leave. This will involve initial training alongside the Production Room Co-ordinator, to gain a good working knowledge of the production room processes and equipment.
Other
· Undertake specific projects that may be additional to the tasks detailed above as agreed with the Chief Executive and/or Publishing Manager.
· Ensure issues, concerns and problems are escalated where appropriate.
· Act as a representative of Living Paintings.
· Run/maintain specific administrative systems relevant to this role, including input to the Living Paintings main database (ACT) and Monday projects management schedule.
The qualifications and/or experience needed:
- GCSE standard in English and Maths essential, and Further Education or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
- Supervisory experience is desirable.
- Excellent IT skills.
· It would be an added bonus if the candidate has experience working in publishing and/or the charitable sector.

General requirements
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the UK
- Able to travel occasionally for work within the UK
- Rarely able to work on evenings and weekends to meet the demands of the job with compensatory time off
- It is preferred that the post holder will hold a full driving licence and have a car available and be insured for work. Living Paintings reimburses all business mileage and travel expenses.
Working Arrangements
· Office based on site at Living Paintings.
· This role is part time, 28 hours per week, and the hours can be worked over 4 or 5 days.
· We offer 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising by 1 day per annum up to 30 days when working on a full time basis and calculated on a pro rata basis for part time.
