Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials according to specifications
- Assemble and install joinery components such as doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture
- Fit and secure joinery components using screws, nails, dowels, or adhesives
- Smooth surfaces and edges of joinery components using hand tools or power tools
- Install hardware such as hinges, handles, and locks
- Inspect finished joinery components for quality and accuracy
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction projects
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Joiner or similar role
- Proficient in various joinery techniques and methods
- Knowledge of different types of wood and their characteristics
- Familiarity with woodworking tools and equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Good physical stamina and the ability to perform heavy lifting
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Safety-conscious mindset
