Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen management, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in supervising daily kitchen operations and staff management
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Manage food safety procedures in compliance with health regulations and company policies
- Coordinate and supervise food preparation and cooking processes to optimise efficiency
- Support team management by mentoring junior kitchen staff and fostering a positive working environment
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained, clean, and functioning correctly
- Assist with menu planning, ingredient ordering, and stock control to minimise waste
- Uphold high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety across all kitchen areas
- Contribute to maintaining excellent customer service by ensuring timely delivery of dishes during service hours
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members
- Good organisational skills with the capacity to work under pressure during busy service times
- Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential
