Hours: Friday evenings and Saturdays (term time)

About Us
PQA (Pauline Quirke Academy) Northampton is part of one of the UK's leading performing arts academies for children and young people aged 4–18. We provide inspiring training in Musical Theatre, Comedy & Drama, and Film & Television, helping every student develop confidence, creativity and life skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Academy Assistants who are passionate about the creative and performing arts to join our friendly team.
The Role
As an Academy Assistant, you will support our teaching staff in delivering exciting and engaging classes while helping to create a safe, welcoming and positive environment for all students.
This is an ideal opportunity for aspiring teachers, performers, arts graduates, students, or anyone with a passion for working with children and young people.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers during Musical Theatre, Comedy & Drama and Film & Television sessions.
- Support students aged 4–18 throughout the academy day.
- Encourage participation, confidence and creativity.
- Help maintain a safe, organised and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with performances, showcases and special events.
- Support student welfare and behaviour in line with academy policies.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching and management team.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for the performing and creative arts.
- Enjoys working with children and young people.
- Is enthusiastic, approachable and dependable.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Is organised, proactive and willing to learn.
Previous experience working with children, education, youth work, performing arts or theatre is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
