We are expanding our finance team and have a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to start a career in finance as a Finance Apprentice.
We will provide on the job training and support for you to achieve your finance qualification (AAT level 2/3 apprenticeship).
Role and Responsibilities:
Downloading and entering customer payments onto the SAP system
Reconcile customer accounts and allocate payments to clear down customer accounts.
Resolve invoice and delivery queries, obtaining proof of delivery and providing copy documents.
Raising credit notes
Set up new customer accounts and notify relevant internal departments
Take payments over the telephone.
Customer Account Management.
Effectively manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of debt.
Use the most effective method (telephone/email) to collect outstanding debt.
Invoice Processing & Payment Management:
Receive and sort department and director’s post daily, distributing to senior management and handling invoices, statements, and other documents.
Enter invoices onto the system, ensuring they are correctly approved before the month-end deadline.
Chase missing invoices as needed and file them ready for payment.
Send remittance advices for monthly and one-off payments.
Financial Reconciliation & Reporting:
· Perform daily bank reconciliations.
· Check monthly expenses for completeness and accuracy before approval.
· Highlight and investigate any exceptions and variances.
Administrative Support & Compliance:
· Provide general administration support for customer accounts and finance-related tasks.
· Handle petty cash.
· Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Skills and Experience:
At least 8 GCSEs at Grade C (5) or above, including Maths and English
Strong IT skills
Confident communications skills
Strong organisational skills
Strong numerical accuracy and excellent attention to detail in all tasks
Job Type: Apprenticeship
Pay: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
