A welcoming and supportive SEN school in Sale is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs in a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
The school is committed to ensuring every pupil is supported to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. The successful candidate will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering pre-planned lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment. You will work closely with teaching staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure pupils remain engaged, supported, and safe throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain engaged with their learning
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities across the school
- Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEMH, communication needs, and other additional learning needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils with emotional regulation
- Adapting activities where appropriate to meet individual pupil needs
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff
- Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can succeed

The Successful Applicant Will
- Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or educational setting
- Be confident supervising classes and managing behaviour positively
- Be calm, resilient, adaptable, and proactive, with a nurturing approach
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be committed to supporting pupils with additional needs to achieve their full potential
- Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full-time
- Previous Cover Supervisor experience (desirable)
- Team Teach, MAPA, or similar de-escalation training (desirable)
