LKS Active is expanding, and we are looking for two passionate, reliable coaches to join our team starting this September. We are hiring for a Specialist Hockey Coach and a Schools Sports Coach to deliver high-quality, engaging sessions across state primary schools and local independent schools in West Berkshire, primarily around Newbury, Thatcham, and the surrounding villages.
We pride ourselves on our proprietary ‘Holistic One’ coaching pathway, focusing on the overall personal and athletic development of the children we teach. What You Will Be Doing
- Delivering engaging, safe, and fun afternoon hockey and multi-sports sessions.
- Coaching children across a range of abilities in both state and independent school settings.
- Acting as a positive role model and representing LKS Active with professionalism.
- Setting up and packing down equipment efficiently.
- Bonus Opportunity: Additional hours are available starting in September to provide injury cover within our established club coaching setup.
Hours & Compensation
- Competitive Pay: £20 to £30 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Hours: 1 to 3 hours per day, typically falling between 14:00 and 18:00.
- Flexibility: This is an ideal role for established coaches looking to fill gaps in their afternoon schedules, or for driven university graduates seeking valuable coaching experience.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous sports coaching experience is required. We welcome applications from both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic, newly qualified individuals.
- Knowledge: A strong background in playing or coaching field hockey is highly preferred, particularly for the specialist role.
- Transport: A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle are essential for travelling between school venues.
- Compliance: An up-to-date Enhanced DBS, Safeguarding, and First Aid certificates (or a willingness to obtain these immediately upon hiring).
