Ready to lead from the front and keep operations running smoothly across multiple busy Trade Counters? This role puts you at the heart of Headlam’s customer experience — driving standards, supporting teams, and making sure every site delivers consistently great service.
You will be the key link between Headlam, the Sales Leadership team, and the local trade counters you oversee. Our Trade Counters provide a seamless extension of the main sales channel.
You will be responsible for our Plymouth, Newton Abbott and Taunton Trade Counters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead & develop teams — Manage supervisors and assistants across several sites, ensuring high standards and a friendly, efficient customer experience.
- Plan staffing & rotas — Oversee rotas, holiday cover, and absence management to maintain seamless operational continuity.
- Champion safety-first culture — Coach supervisors, uphold safe systems of work, and manage performance with clarity and fairness.
- Ensure compliance — Maintain adherence to Headlam policies, H&S regulations, and operational procedures across all sites.
- Resolve issues & improve operations — Tackle people and operational challenges, collaborating with Sales Leadership when needed.
- Drive efficiency & service quality — Meet KPIs, reduce waste, and ensure daily/weekly checks are completed to keep every site running safely and smoothly.
Essential Criteria:
- Team management experience
- Health & safety awareness
- Trade/retail/warehouse multi-site background (desirable)
