Are you a hands-on production leader who can drive performance, lead teams and keep operations running smoothly? In this role, you’ll lead production across the Cook Room and Packing areas, ensuring efficiency, safety and quality at all times. You’ll manage team performance, oversee daily operations, resolve issues quickly and work cross-functionally to keep everything on track.
You’ll also coach and develop your team, support HR processes and continuously look for ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste and strengthen overall performance.
Health & Safety

Promoting and developing a strong Health & Safety culture through communication, engagement and adherence to site processes and systems.
- Building team engagement to encourage proactive hazard reporting.
- Addressing hazards promptly, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensuring full compliance with all site safety processes and procedures.
Operational Management

Maintaining high standards of hygiene and housekeeping, promoting a clean-as-you-go approach.
- Monitoring production KPIs, including yield, downtime, efficiency and waste, and taking corrective action where required.
- Supporting production planning by adjusting schedules and resources in response to operational challenges.
- Leading and coordinating team activities during assigned shifts.
- Managing daily production output to meet volume and quality targets.
- Working closely with Engineering to improve equipment reliability, resolve breakdowns quickly and minimise downtime.
Team Leadership & Development

Managing staffing requirements, including scheduling, absence management and performance feedback.
- Supporting recruitment activities, including interviews and candidate selection in partnership with HR.
- Managing formal HR processes such as disciplinaries, grievances and return-to-work interviews in line with company policy.
- Providing clear leadership, setting expectations, supporting team members and driving accountability.
- Conducting structured end-of-shift handovers to ensure continuity across shifts.
- Carrying out performance reviews and identifying training and development needs.
- Overseeing onboarding, including inductions, compliance checks and probation reviews.
- Maintaining accurate training records and ensuring compliance with operational requirements.
- Managing holiday planning and tracking for the team.
Continuous Improvement

Contributing to operational meetings and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Encouraging team involvement in improvement activities and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Tracking and reporting on improvement outcomes to ensure measurable and sustainable results.
Sustainability & Waste Reduction

Supporting sustainability targets by reducing energy usage, waste and water consumption.
- Promoting recycling and responsible disposal practices.
- Participating in environmental audits and initiatives.
Quality Assurance Support

Working closely with the Quality team to ensure consistent completion of quality checks.
- Ensuring products meet food safety standards and site specifications.
- Supporting the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and non-conformances.
- Maintaining full traceability and accurate documentation throughout each shift.
Communication & Collaboration

Acting as the main point of contact during shifts to ensure effective cross-functional communication.
- Participating in daily and monthly operational meetings and contributing ideas and solutions.
- Working collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, HR and Planning teams to resolve issues and align objectives.
- Maintaining accurate shift records and providing timely updates to senior management.

Ideally Level 3 Food Safety qualified (or willing to work towards).
- HACCP Level 2 qualified (or willing to work towards).
- Previous experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and food hygiene policies and processes.
- Good understanding of operational policies, including Food Safety, Glass, Wood and Metal Control, Allergen Control and Hygiene.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and build high-performing teams.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to perform under pressure to meet deadlines and targets.
- Experience working cross-functionally and collaboratively with different teams.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Process-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
