Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles in accordance with government regulations and industry standards
- Inspect vehicle components including brakes, lights, tires, suspension, exhaust systems, and emissions systems
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs or adjustments as needed to pass the MOT test
- Document test results accurately and communicate findings clearly to customers or team members
- Assist with vehicle safety checks, minor repairs, and maintenance tasks when required
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained properly for accurate results
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all testing procedures, including heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or equipment
Experience
- Previous experience in automotive testing or vehicle maintenance is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely as part of routine tasks involving vehicle parts or equipment
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and regulatory compliance
