Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our accountancy practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career within the accountancy sector. Prior experience within accountancy preferable but not essential.
Responsibilities
The role will be adapted based on the experience of the successful candidate and may include:
- Payroll preparation - preparation and submission of payroll & pension
- VAT & Tax returns - Calculate, prepare, and submit VAT & tax returns.
- Bookkeeping - Maintain accounting records for clients, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded
- Reception & admin duties including liaising with clients
- Accounts preparation - assist with preparing year-end accounts and financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Online accountancy software - use of various accounting software such as Xero, Quickbooks, Sage etc
Requirements
- Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numerical skills
- Organised approach to work with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Knowledge of accountancy practices is desirable but not essential

Pay will be dependent on experience.
Working hours and days are highly flexible and open to discussion. We offer the choice of 3 full days or 4 to 5 shorter part-days, with options designed to easily fit around school schedules.
Pay: £12.75-£17.50 per hour
