Job title: Housekeeper (Part-time)
Based at: The Jockey Club Rooms - Newmarket, the Exclusive Private Members Club of The Jockey Club.
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 15 hours per week (3x5 hour shifts per week, weekdays and weekends)
About the role
We are seeking a Housekeeper to assist in the smooth day to day operation of the Bedrooms ensuring we provide a professional, friendly and efficient reception service for all guests visiting The Jockey Club Rooms Bedrooms dealing with enquires and requests whilst they are with us.
About The Jockey Club Rooms
The Jockey Club Rooms are the private members club of The Jockey Club. It has 24 bedrooms, beautiful public spaces and function rooms and is set in stunning grounds. It highlights the wonderful history of British Horse Racing and supports the work of The Jockey Club that stages thrilling sporting occasions and live events nationwide including The Grand National, The Cheltenham Festival & The Derby. Owning & operating 15 course’s, millions of people every year enjoy the special experiences we offer through racing, music, food and entertainment on raceday’s and beyond.
The Housekeeper will

Prepare and maintain guest bedrooms, corridors, and public areas to exceptional standards, ensuring rooms are ready for guest arrivals.

Deliver outstanding guest service, responding professionally to requests and escalating any concerns when required.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a positive team environment and smooth departmental operations.

Provide additional guest services, including turndown service, shoe cleaning, in-room breakfast, and morning tea service.

Support stock control by maintaining appropriate levels of cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and housekeeping consumables.

Identify and report maintenance issues, equipment faults, and repair requirements promptly.

Assist with a range of housekeeping duties, including staff area cleaning, laundry services, and guest laundry requests.

Follow all health and safety procedures, participate in training activities, and maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and other duties as required to support the business.

Previous hotel, hospitality, or accommodation experience is highly desirable.
