Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service to our clients. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong organisational abilities, and effective communication to coordinate deliveries and maintain customer satisfaction. The driver will play a vital part in supporting our logistics operations and maintaining the high standards of our company.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle, such as a van or lorry, to deliver goods to various locations.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and optimise fuel usage.
- Load and unload items, often involving heavy lifting, with care and attention to safety protocols.
- Ensure all deliveries are accurately documented and signed for upon receipt.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle interior and exterior at all times.
- Follow all traffic laws, health & safety regulations, and company policies during operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
- Valid UK driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience working in warehouse environments or handling heavy lifting is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently under minimal supervision.
- Good organisational skills for route planning and documentation management.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy loads safely and perform routine vehicle checks
