Electrician
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per year
About the Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Electrician to join our fast-growing M&E team.
Working closely with the Qualifying Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical installations, maintenance, testing, and fault-finding services while ensuring full compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and testing of emergency lighting systems
- Installation and testing of fire alarm systems
- Reactive fault finding and repairs
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Data cabling installation
- Occasional domestic electrical works
- Accurately record work completed using relevant IT systems
- Provide regular progress updates to management
- Liaise professionally with clients to minimise disruption and downtime
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Manage materials and workload effectively
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Fully qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical apprenticeship
- JIB Gold Card
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Proven industry experience
- Strong understanding of current electrical health and safety legislation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in challenging environments
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to participate in random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Inspection and Testing Qualification
- Fire alarm installation and testing experience
- Experience working within rail or off-track environments
- Knowledge of rail industry health and safety standards and regulations
Training will be provided for candidates without rail industry experience.
