We are now accepting applications for the following position:
FARMER/GENERAL HELPER
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Perform a variety of tasks not limited to cultivating soil, planting, controlling weeds, irrigation and harvesting crops which may involve the use of hand tools and powered equipment.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the resort farm and garden.
- Maintain crops by watering, weeding and harvesting as needed.
- Safely use hand tools and equipment for carrying out farming related duties.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area; ensure that proper safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and make order suggestions to management; advise of any repairs needed to the premises or equipment.
- Other duties as may be required by management from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar role within a luxury resort; farming and/or professional gardening.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- A satisfactory Police record and fluency in English is required.
- Possess a valid Drivers License.
- Willing to work late shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Able to tolerate weather extremes as necessary to carry out job functions.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.; stand/walk for long periods.
Hourly Range: CI$6.56 - CI$8.00 per hour + gratuities
