Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. Duties
- Support the Store Manager in daily operational activities, ensuring smooth store functioning
- Supervise and motivate sales staff to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service
- Assist with staff training, development, and performance evaluations
- Oversee merchandising standards, ensuring products are well-presented and stock levels are maintained
- Manage stock levels, organise inventories, and coordinate replenishment activities
- Handle customer queries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy, maintaining excellent phone etiquette
- Organise staff schedules to optimise coverage during peak hours
- Assist in administrative tasks such as reporting, record keeping, and cash handling
- Lead by example in demonstrating organisational skills and time management to ensure store efficiency
- Support promotional activities and visual merchandising initiatives
Skills
- Proven management experience within retail or sales environments, with supervising or team management responsibilities
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous
- Sound organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Good understanding of merchandising principles and sales management techniques
- Demonstrated time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Administrative experience including report preparation and stock control systems
- Professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independent decision-making capabilities
