Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and be committed to fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop management and leadership skills within a supportive setting. Previous nursery experience and childcare knowledge are highly desirable although not essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Support the daily routines of children, including organising activities, meal times, and rest periods
- Assist in creating a stimulating and safe environment that promotes learning and development
- Engage children in educational play and activities that encourage social, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Supervise children both indoors and outdoors, ensuring their safety at all times
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement age-appropriate programmes
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery area to meet health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behaviour
- Support management in implementing policies related to child welfare and safety
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Experience in organising activities that promote learning through play
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Pay: £13.25-£14.00 per hour
