Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our company. As a Painter, you’ll be responsible for applying high-quality finishes to various surfaces, including walls, ceilings and woodwork. You’ll work on a range of projects, from routines maintenance to large-scale projects, using your expertise and attention to detail to deliver exceptional results.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Painting and Decorating: Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces, including walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and filling.
Material Selection: Select and mix paints, varnishes, and other materials to achieve desired colours and finishes.
Project Work: Work on various projects, including new builds, renovations, and refurbishments, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as decorators, joiners, and plasterers, to ensure seamless project execution.
Health and Safety: Adhere to company health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Communication: Effectively communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met and any issues are addressed promptly.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ).
Certification: Ideally you will have a CSCS card or the ability to obtain one
Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a maintenance or construction environment.
· Knowledge:
Environmental knowledge regarding disposal of paint and other materials.
Knowledge of the correct PPE that must be used
· Skills:
Proficiency in painting and decorating techniques.
Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and colour matching
· Technology: Be comfortable with smartphones/tablets for accessing work schedules and as a communication tool.
