Full Fat Social is an independent coffee and wine bar operating in Cardiff Bay. We're a space for connection, conversation, and community. By day, we serve locally roasted coffee and a fresh brunch & lunch menu; by night, we pour great wines and speciality cocktails. We're looking for a Cafe Chef who thrives in a busy, fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in creating fresh, seasonal food that keeps customers coming back. This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to bring your own creativity to the menu, develop new dishes, and help shape our food offering as it evolves.
What you'll do:
- Prepare and deliver consistently high-quality brunch, lunch and small plates during busy service periods.
- Contribute to the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service at all times.
- Develop and refresh menus, bringing new ideas and creative dishes that reflect the café's style and customer demand.
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure an excellent customer experience from kitchen to floor.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and food safety.
- Support with kitchen organisation, prep planning, and maintaining an efficient workflow during peak trading.
- Contribute ideas for seasonal specials, events, and new food concepts.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen, or similar environment.
- A confident, organised team member who enjoys being hands-on throughout service.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for developing menus, creating specials, and continuously improving the food offering.
- A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients and beautifully presented food.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining consistently high standards.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen health & safety requirements.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
