About Delphic Brewing Company:
Delphic Brewing Company is an independent brewery founded in 2019, producing everything from traditional ales to modern craft beers.
In July 2024, we opened our brewery and taproom in Newbury, which has become the hub of what we do – brewing, serving and sharing our freshest beers directly with the local community.
We brew on a small 500L kit, producing a core selection of beers alongside a regularly changing line-up of seasonal, limited-edition and one-off releases. We're a small team with a focus on great beer, friendly service and creating a welcoming and inclusive taproom that people enjoy spending time in.
We also recently added a Pizza Kitchen to our offering, producing simple but tasty Pizzas that pair perfectly with delicious pints.
The Role:
We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic people to join our taproom team and work behind the bar.
You'll be serving customers across our range of drinks, with a particular focus on draught beer, while helping us provide the relaxed, knowledgeable and welcoming service we want Delphic to be known for.
The taproom can get busy, so you'll need to be comfortable working at pace, managing several orders at once and keeping things organised while still making sure customers receive great service.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Pouring and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, primarily draught beer.
- Welcoming customers, taking orders and providing friendly and attentive service.
- Talking confidently with customers about our beers and helping them choose something they'll enjoy.
- Keeping the bar, serving areas and surrounding workspace clean, tidy and well organised.
- Washing and maintaining glassware throughout shifts.
- Keeping an eye on stock levels and highlighting when products need replenishing.
- Following responsible alcohol service procedures at all times.
- Learning about our latest beers, new products and developments within the wider beer industry.
What We're Looking For:
- An interest in craft beer is a definite advantage, although you don't need to be a beer expert. Being enthusiastic and willing to learn and try new things is essential.
- Previous bar, pub, taproom or other hospitality experience is preferred.
- Good time-management skills and the ability to deal efficiently with multiple orders during busy periods.
- Basic confidence with technology; previous experience using an EPOS/till system would be beneficial.
- A friendly, approachable personality and strong communication skills.
- The ability to remain calm and organised when the bar gets busy.
- Good attention to detail and pride in keeping your working environment clean and presentable.
If you enjoy working with people, appreciate great beer and would like to be part of a small independent brewery and taproom, we'd love to hear from you.
